 Russia declares war with Ukraine :

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned that Russia could start "a major war in Europe" any day now, and called on Russians to oppose it.

In a late-night address, he said he had unsuccessfully sought talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"I initiated a telephone call with the president of the Russian federation. Result: silence," Mr Zelensky said.

He said Russia had almost 200,000 troops and thousands of combat vehicles on Ukraine's borders.he latest war in Europe, the one that has been pitting the Ukrainian army against pro-Russian separatists in the Donbas region since 2014, is now threatening to extend to the rest of Ukraine and to drag Europe and the West to the brink of another Cold War with Russia.

The fighting has divided the Donbas region into two divided areas, one on each side of the frontline. The eastern zone, which borders Russia, is controlled by separatists who are backed by the Kremlin; the western zone remains under the control of Ukraine’s armed forces. Separatists are claiming the entire territories of Donetsk and Luhansk, if they only have control over a third of the land – around 6,500 square kilometers (2,500 square miles), according to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).
